Ronald S. Dubin, M.D.
Ronald S. Dubin, M.D. has been in practice in Southeast Kentucky since March, 1987. He is married to Jo Ann Dubin since 1987 and has four children, Carly, Natalie, Katherine, and Nathan.
Dr. Dubin completed his undergraduate education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and medical school from Wayne State University in Detroit in 1980. He then completed his residency in orthopedics at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He is licensed to practice medicine in Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, and Missouri. His hobbies include long distance running (completed 33 marathons) as well as flying his Mooney 201 airplane for which he is an instrumented rated pilot.
As Clinical Adjunct Professor for the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, he enjoys teaching many of the orthopedic lectures given to each first year class and enjoys having third medical year students to rotate with him. Dr. Dubin is a member of several medical and specialty associations including the American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association, Kentucky Orthopedic Association, and also serves as a board member to the American Medical Athletic Association.
As founder and Executive Director for the Kentucky Orthopedic Clinic, MRI Research Institute and Open MRI of Kentucky, he has always maintained cutting edge technology and a strong commitment to provide the highest quality care to his patients. This is evident in the quality services he provides utilizing only evidence based orthopedic knowledge and treatment outcomes. Dr. Dubin enjoys all fields of orthopedics including all joint complaints, fractures, sprains and strains, neck, back, and sciatic pain. His treatment philosophy is extremely conservative and his goal is to treat patients utilizing the least invasive therapy that will resolve or improve the condition. Surgical treatment is performed only when it is considered necessary. He views the patient as a whole being with a strong commitment to his patients as though they are his own family.
Dr. Dubin emphasizes the importance of having an early and correct diagnosis for the best clinical outcome. To this end, he developed two in-office imaging facilities which are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Corbin facility provides very unique and unparalleled quality images unmatched by any other scanner in the state. Dr. Dubin has partnered with Proscan Imaging, one of the nation’s most respected radiology groups from Cincinnati, OH for professional MRI interpretations.
Dr. Dubin offers specialized care and treatment to injured workers and patients in motor vehicular accidents and is a recognized qualified medical examiner. He is currently writing a book on the proper care and treatment for acceleration-deceleration injuries associated with car accidents.
He works closely with all types of medical providers including chiropractors, osteopathic physicians, internists, family practitioners, and physical therapists. Dr. Dubin and his staff coordinates care with claims adjustors, nurse case managers, and workers’ compensation attorneys to provide the best comprehensive recovery program for individuals injured on the job.
